Unfortunately the lionfish look a lot bigger than they are... not a lot of meat on them, so any serious fishing of them has to be coupled with a marketing campaign, and price per pound is going to be very high. It will be very interesting if the Nassau grouper and other local predators learn to kill lionfish on their own. In the Pacific, they have evolved together for millions of years. But in the Caribbean they haven't. They may learn from divers that lionfish are tasty, but will they begin to "teach" each other this without human intervention?
